Subjectively, this could depict that amongst all the normal aspects of daily life, there are exceptional abnormalities that run alongside. I admire how the artist has used an hour exposure to capture the stars as they move across the sky, as it gives the image an unusual, unearthly ambience. Due to the composition and rule of thirds in the image, the focus is centred mainly on the large circle at the top of the image of the star's movement. Overall, in my opinion, with the circular motion of the stars and the colours from the sunrise, it gives the image an unearthly ambience. Plus, the colour purple has connotations of supernaturalness which adds to this ambience.
My Attempts
These are my attempts at paying homage to Michael Bosanko's long exposure images. I stood in the middle of a central reservation facing a camera on a tripod. I set the camera to a 4 second exposure and a relatively small aperture to keep the background in focus. I experimented with the positions of cars to find where they looked best in the shot. I put the camera in the center of the road to maximise the leading lines from the road, the lamp posts and the light streaks from cars.
